Chiefs Defender Facing Weeks Out
Lorenzo Gordinho Faces Several Weeks Out For Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs defender, Lorenzo Gordinho, is believed to be looking at around a month on the sidelines as he recovers from a rib injury that he sustained in training.
Only three Amakhosi players have played more Absa Premiership games than Gordinho so far this season, but it is thought that he is looking at around three to four weeks out after cracking his ribs.
The news will come as a blow to Steve Komphela with the club already having the likes of Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Tsepo Masilela, Teenage Hadebe, Sibusiso Khumalo and others on the sidelines, and their backline is now down to the bare bones.
Erick Mathoho and Daniel Cardoso are expected to remain as Chiefs’ centre pairing when they face Baroka tomorrow, however in their clash with Golden Arrows they didn’t have a single defender on their bench.
Gordinho posted a picture of himself in the hospital undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy in order to help the healing process and get him back playing as soon as possible.
It’s unlikely that the 23-year-old will feature in October as things stand.
