Chippa Striker Help Disadvantaged Children With Shoes
Lerato Manzini Out To Help Disadvantaged Children
Chippa United’s Lerato Manzini has confirmed that he will be donating school shoes to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The handover is scheduled to take place at Mojaho Primary School in Welkom, which is the former school of the striker. Speaking to the Siya crew, Manzini confirmed that he and his wife decided on donating the school shoes to the needy during this winter, which is also during the off-season for him.
“I will be donating school shoes at my former primary school in Welkom. My wife and I will be giving out 60 pairs of shoes to school children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The shoes will be for both the boys and girls. The handover will be on the 29th of this month,” said Manzini.
The 25-year-old says the difficult conditions of his upbringing motivate him to assist the disadvantaged whenever he can.
“As someone who comes from a very disadvantaged family, I decided that I have to do something for the needy children. I need to show the future generation that there are people out there who care for them. I need them to know that there are people out there who are watching how difficult it is for some of them.
“This is something that I am doing together with my wife. There is no one sponsoring us in this. It is winter now and it can be painful for some of the children out there, who are without shoes. I know it, I come from there,” concluded Manzini.
