Lance Davids Jets Into SA, Daylon Claasen Multimillion-Rand Deal Imminent
The representative of Bafana Bafana international, Daylon Claasen, has jetted into South Africa where he is expected to conclude a multimillion-rand deal with Bidvest Wits.
The Siya crew revealed yesterday that Wits were leading the race to land the former 1860 Munich midfielder’s signature.
Claasen’s contract with 1860 Munich will come to an end on June 30, which will see him able to join any club as a free agent thereafter.
The player has been linked with a move back to Mzansi in recent times, with the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns all said to be monitoring the attacking midfielder’s situation closely.
However, it has since been confirmed that the Absa Premiership champions have beaten their Premier Soccer League rivals to the 27-year-old’ signature.
At the Students’ annual award ceremony last night, Head Coach Gavin Hunt confirmed to the media that Claasen will be at the club today, June 29 and indications are that the player could complete his medical with a deal being finalised thereafter.
“He’s (Claasen’s) coming in the morning. I feel that with Ngele going we need a pass. Every team needs that final ball and I feel he can give us that,” Hunt told media at Wits’ ceremony last night.
The Siya crew has since been informed that the representative of Claasen, Lance Davids from On Target Consultants is in the country and sources have also indicated that the player’s agent is set to conclude a multimillion-rand deal with Head Coach Hunt’s side.
If all talks and negotiations go well, Claasen will be expected to put pen to paper on a high profile deal with the Students. The club is expected to make an official announcement soon.
