Khune: I'm Very Disappointed

Khune: I'm Very Disappointed

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 17, 2017 08:46 AM
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khue admitted he was 'very disappointed' with his side's 1-1 draw Bidvest Wits.

Chiefs were denied three points after Amr Gamal fired home a equaliser in second-half stoppage time.

Khune claims they need to learn from these encounters, having suffered a similar fate against Golden Arrows last season.

"I'm not happy, I'm very disappointed. How we gave away a goal at the time," Khune told SuperSport after the game.

"It happened last season against Golden Arrows, where we gave away the goal in the dying minutes. We lost concentration, we couldn't focus throughout until the fat lady sings.

"These are the games where we have to learn and stay switched on for the entire match plus added on time. I'm running out of words how we gave away that goal.

"We worked so hard to score the goal. Nine (ten) men, we couldn't beat them. We need to go back and look at ourselves and say 'what is it that we could have done
better."

I'm starting to question Steve's coaching style, we still experiencing last seasons mistakes, we can't let go of three points in the dying minutes of the game, its unacceptable we all know that Wits were good on the day offensively, but only because they were wounded from the Arrows defeat and they still looking for their first win of the League campaign, Chiefs defense is not getting better if we still rely on Cardoso and Gordihno these guys are not Astute at the back. My feeling is for Steve to go we need Fresh ideas especially with the squad we have now.

@vhivha, let's hope so but our coach is very stubborn or he doesn't see the things that we see.How many times we have been victims of the same approach of defending too deep after we have scored one goal?why is he using lone striker, when was a lastime we scored more than two goals

It is not about how you start the league marathon, it is about how you finish, those who make the most noise now will end up eating a humble pie. Everybody can see Chiefs means business, Wits with its International recruits struggled against this mighty team, the current small minor errors will be corrected soon, watch this space!

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes in his side so much that he has already sorted out travelling arrangements for the CAF Champions League semi-final. Sundowns take on Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the quarterfinals at Lucas Moripe Stadium this afternoon (15h00), knowing that they need a good result at home to take to the second leg set to be played in Casablanca. The African champons leave on Monday for the second leg which will be played on September 23. Should Mosimane’s men win the two-legged tie against Wydad, they will stay in North Africa because they believe they will face Algerian side USM Alger in the semi-final. USM face Mozambican side in the quarterfinals Ferroviario Beira, who are the underdogs. The first leg semi-final scheduled for the weekend of 30 September to October 1, so Mosimane does not see why they need to come back to South Africa after the Wydad match. This plan, of course, could backfire for Mosimane and Sundowns who will lose money in the process, but he is willing to take the risk. Sundowns have to make sure they win and also bank on USM beating Beira. “We are not coming back. We are thinking of staying there. We are leaving Monday after the matchto play an away game and we believe we will go through. And if we go through, why should we come back [to South Africa]? “I believe USM will beat the Mozambicans, so we have two visas for us to stay there for the next two weeks. That’s the way it is and you lose money if you don’t win. [But] If I don’t book, what am I saying to the players? I book because we need to have the positive mentality around it.”
