Billiat Undergoing Rehabilitation, Nearing Downs Return
Khama Billiat Nearing A Return For Mamelodi Sundowns
Khama Billiat is undergoing rehabilitation in anticipation of his return for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Billiat had been a notable absentee from Downs’ line-ups during games leading up to their off-season recess. The Zimbabwean has been sidelined with an ankle injury that hindered his progress at the Chloorkop outfit.
The injury also delayed the former PSL Footballer of the Season in his progress in the Zimbabwe national team.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the player has made progress on his way to recover from the injury. Siya sources close to the African champions have confirmed that the skilful player has resumed training with Downs’ MDC team, as part of his rehabilitation process.
The 26-year-old will be working on completing his full recovery so that he can be ready to join Pitso Mosimane and the team on their return for the new season.
Billiat has reportedly been linked with a Saudi Arabian club that is believed to have put in a bid for his services.
As reported by the Siya crew, the player is said to have turned down Downs’ new deal, after he and the club were unable to reach a mutual agreement regarding his salary demands.
