The Glamour Boys registered seven strikers for the 2016/17 season and their cumulative tally for goal returns was just 10 goals throughout the league campaign.
However, three of those strikers, Emmanuel Letlotlo, Edward Manqele and Lewis Macha, failed to find the net over the course of the entire campaign, while Bernard Parker (five), Michelle Katsvairo (two), Gustavo Paez (two) and Ryan Moon (one) were the men that took responsibility for putting the finishing touches on Amakhosi’s attacking movements.
Their cumulative tally of 10 goals out of the team total of 39 was the worst return out of any team that finished in the top five of the Absa Premiership standings.
Meanwhile, the return of Bidvest Wits’ strike force painted a completely different picture, with all of their registered strikers boasting a return of two goals or more. Gabadinho Mhango (nine), Phakamani Mahlambi (six), Cuthbert Malajila (four), Eleazar Rodgers (three), Mogakolodi Ngele (three) and James Keene (two) all made up for 27 out of their club’s 47 goals scored last season.
Elsewhere, Cape Town City’s strike force returned with a tally of 14 of the final team's tally of 47 goals. SuperSport United’s four frontmen, on the other hand, were responsible for only 12 of the club’s 42 goals and, finally, Mamelodi Sundowns’ four strikers made up for 19 of the club’s league-topping 52 goals.
