Where Chiefs Have Been Worst In The League
Kaizer Chiefs Have Lowest Shot Tally In The League
Kaizer Chiefs have the worst record in the league in one key area this season.
The Glamour Boys have gained a reputation for struggling to put the final touches on their attacking movements in recent seasons, with no players managing to score more than seven league goals throughout Steve Komphela’s tenure in the Amakhosi dugout.
This season, that appears to be set to continue, with Chiefs managing just 8.3 shots per game this season, the worst figure throughout the Absa Premiership this season. Furthermore, having only hit the target with 27.3% of their shots, it will be a matter of concern that the players are finding the target on just over one of every four of the few shots that they take. However, Komphela will take some solace in the fact that his charges have managed a conversion ratio of 15.2%, which is the second-best return in the league thus far.
If Chiefs are to put the demons that have been haunting them for the past two seasons to rest, Steve Komphela and his assistant, Patrick Mabedi, need to make improving in this area a priority before it’s too late and they finish a third consecutive season without silverware.
Do you think Chiefs need to make improvements up front if they are to be successful this season?
