Argentinian striker, Jonatan Philippe, has touched down in South Africa and is due to be assessed by Kaizer Chiefs.

The 29-year-old, who was playing for Agrotikos Asteras in the Greek Second Division last season, landed in South Africa this week and the Siya crew have been informed that he is expected to join up with the Amakhosi next week as he looks to impress Steve Komphela.

Philippe is a former Boca Juniors forward who can play as a striker or on the right wing and has plied his trade in Greece, El Salvador, Argentina, Colombia and Paraguay in recent years.

The forward scored nine goals for Agrotikos last season - including a hat-trick last month - and Komphela will be hoping that he can provide the goalscoring threat that the club seemed to lack last season.

@Master Mketule Take your bunch of Pirates drunkards who opted for a shebeen a day before Nedbank Final and slaughter a black & white goat 4-1 reason to wash away your position 11 in the league. Phillipe is 100 times better than Gabuza who is cursed by Manyisa Muti

This Phillipe guy is just average. he was surplus to the standard of Boca and was released then moved to Colombia and waisted his time on the bench, then in Greece he was playing for just an evargage team in second division. Masalesa was even playing in higher league in Greece. This guy is been downgrading continuously and he wont last in PSL. yes it is better to have Letlotlo than this Mpongo striker. Not convinced by what I saw on clips. No wow goals and some of the goals the goalkeeper was so pathetic. Anyway good for Zebra.

@Bothma You chiefs fans always comment on Bucs and Sundows issues and there is nothing wrong with that. You don't own Laduma or chiefs matters. We can debate anything here even the life of the President Zuma or Mandela can be debated. If you are not happy then make sure that you kick the chair harder while the rope is tighter on your neck.

@khashizi We saw his credentials, ability and commitment. Sign him SK & Bobby he qualifies with flying colours. Argentina have good strikers (Messi & Maradonna), Phillipe is one of them

Sundowns and pirates fans are very irrational, you don't even know the Nigerian striker pirates signed and you did not know Castro but you busy raining on chiefs parade. Gees! Let chiefs to be chiefs and keep your pirate and sundowns comments to your self.
