Cape Town All Stars have appointed Vladislav Heric as their new head coach in the place of David Kannemeyer, who was suddenly axed after the club’s goalless draw with Black Leopards on Saturday.

The Serbian, last on the books of Ajax Cape Town’s MDC team, has been out of work for a number of months but is well known in the National First Division, having promoted the likes of Bay United and Chippa United in seasons gone by.

Heric confirmed the news to Soccer Laduma after he was spotted at the Athlone Stadium during the clash between another one of his old clubs, Lidoda Duvha, and Igugu Lekapa.

“Yes I’ve signed for All Stars,” he said. “I’m beginning work on Monday.”

The 51-year-old has also coached African Warriors, Polokwane City, the defunct Thanda Royal Zulu and Royal Eagles.

Kannemeyer, who started with two victories before slipping down the log, didn’t want to comment on his exit.

Your first game will be a loss for you. You are going to loose your first game, Heric. That is for sure. You can win your other games.
