Hlompho Kekana: We Are Sad To See Teko Modise Go
Hlompho Kekana has admitted that the team is sad to see that Teko Modise has moved on from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns and Modise agreed to mutually part ways in June this year, where the 34-year-old subsequently joined up with Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s Cape Town City.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma this week, Kekana revealed that the team is sad to see the veteran move on with his career away from the Chloorkop-based club and has admitted that the veteran had a great impact on the team.
“Eish, the General maan, eish… obviously I’ not happy to lose Teko as a teammate, but we really couldn’t do anything about it. We are all sad to see him go, but he made up his mind and we just have to accept the fact that he felt he needed to move on,” Kekana said in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma.
“People will never understand the impact he had on the team and I’m sure we all learned a lot from his experience. He was always there for everyone, especially the young players, guiding and encouraging them. I would like to thank him for sharing his experience and professionalism with us. We will all miss his presence and the life lessons we always shared as teammates,” the Sundowns skipper added.
