Hunt Confirms Presence Of Ex-Chiefs Striker, Kenyan A No-Go
Gavin Hunt Is Still Looking At A Former Kaizer Chiefs Striker
Gavin Hunt has confirmed that Bidvest Wits are taking a look at former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Camaldine Abraw, however, their Kenyan trialist will not be signing at the club.
The Siya crew reported last week that the 26-year-old had surfaced in Braamfontein following his release at Naturena, and it appears that Hunt is looking to him as a possible option to bolster his attacking threat ahead of the new season.
Wits have already worked hard to strengthen their midfield and defence with the likes of Steven Pienaar, Daylon Claasen and Thato Thlone, but at this stage, they are yet to find the new striker that they are chasing.
The club also had Kenyan forward, Masoud Juma, training with the club after he failed a trial with AIK in Sweden, and Hunt has explained that he won’t be a Clever Boy in 2017/18.
Speaking to the Siya crew he said, “The Kenyan, no. Abraw we’re obviously looking at because he can give us a number nine that we’re looking for. But fitness-wise he’s been out a long time and hasn’t played, so we’re looking at those type of things.
“We’ve also got a couple more potential options coming in this week.”
