Report: Ex-PSL Striker ‘Survives Live Bullets’
Former PSL Player Reportedly Shot
The former Baroka FC striker, Geofrey Massa, has reportedly been shot by police on Thursday morning.
According to reports coming through from Uganda, one of the people that were in the player’s car that has been allegedly shot sustained bullet wounds.
“Retired Uganda Cranes captain Geofrey Massa survived live bullets after policemen shot at his car, Toyota Land Cruiser registration number UAY 627B on the wee hours of Thursday morning.
Unfortunately, one of the occupants in the vehicle, Josephine Maliza (works at Blue Point Bar in Kireka) sustained bullet wounds and has since been treated at a Kireka based clinic, only identified as Gwatiro.
Massa was driving along the Namboole fly over from Kireka zone. The nasty incident happened minutes after 1 a.m when Massa was (returning) home.
Eyewitnesses narrate that Massa sped off after he suspected foul play when a blue primo car was following him.
However, according to a police statement released on Thursday morning, officers on a police patrol suspected a parked vehicle along the highway on the Namboole Fly Over.
They stopped and wanted to talk to the occupants. It is reported that the driver, (Massa) sped off in a rush sending more suspicion.
In an attempt to stop them, officers attempted to shoot the tyres of the vehicle and subsequently injured the lady in the vehicle.
He, Geoffrey Massa suddenly stopped, almost hit another motorist and allegedly hit his forehead on the windscreen, injuring himself.
He rushed to a nearby clinic called Gwatiro and he has received medical attention.
Maliza, identified as a friend to Massa also received first aid treatment at the same medical facility,” Kawowo Sports reported.
