THE BREAKDOWN: Rusike & Ndoro To Create Lethal Bucs Partnership?

Evans Rusike Linked With Orlando Pirates Move

By Kyle Smith - Aug 06, 2017 03:30 PM @KyleLaduma

With Orlando Pirates said to be escalating their interest in Maritzburg United striker, Evans Rusike, we take a look at what a possible partnership between the Zimbabwean and his compatriot, Tendai Ndoro, could look like.

In Soccer Laduma issue number 1034, Siya sources confirmed that the Buccaneers are still keen on the player that had already attracted their interest last year. Should the deal go through, Pirates’ top scorer last season, Tendai Ndoro, would either compete or link up with his compatriot, depending on the new coach, Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic’s tactical approach.

Both players spent a similar amount of time on the pitch last season, with each of them starting 24 games throughout the Absa Premiership campaign. However, Rusike was used as a left winger at times in a 3-4-3 formation last season. Both players tend to drift out to the left and cut in to take shots.

However, Rusike proved to be marginally better than Ndoro in the air, having won more aerial duels. Ndoro made more passes than Rusike, with better accuracy and also took more touches in the box, which is likely why he scored three times as many goals. The incumbent Pirates striker also had a better shot accuracy and conversion rate compared to Rusike, although the Maritzburg man outplayed him in terms of shots outside the box as well as dribbles, also assisting more shots.

Pirates’ New Season Fixtures, Soweto Derby Dates Confirmed

To summarise, unlike Ndoro, Rusike did not play in a poaching role and, with the good work that he did outside of the box, it would appear that he is capable of playing alongside his compatriot, rather than in place of him. Alternatively, Micho could opt to play with two out-and-out strikers. Whether a deal goes through or not, however, is up to the Buccaneers technical team, but fans shouldn’t expect the Maritzburg man to be a direct replacement for Ndoro.

Do you think Evans Rusike will play alongside Tendai Ndoro at Orlando Pirates?

It is with disappointment to learned that my team does not buy players as per coach requirements. Who in his right mind buys players without consulting the coach. “Kjell Jonevret wanted to look at the youngsters in the team and give them a chance. He wanted the likes of Ricardo Laurenco, Yosuf Maart and to play a bigger role in the team“He felt disrespected when old players like Musa Nyatama and Wayne Sandilands were brought in without his consultation". I think there are certain officials that the Iron Duke must get rid of, people like Screamer are messing up our beloved team. # SCREAMER AND OTHERS MUST FALL.

why do we want to sign strikers instead of defenders? When is it going to reach the comcentration of the management that we need quality defenders. We won't be able to shut the back door with Defenders like Gcaba.

All players Bucs have signed.most of them a quality players.but the difference its how you are coached nd played by your coach.is he playing you to your strength.or hes just playing you because he thinks you can excel on that position.eg.kjell played most players not in their usual position.as for Rusike if management together with coach think hes good.wat can we say.than to suppprt
