Mathoho’s Hard Lesson As Chiefs Target Three Points
Erick Mathoho Is Happy To Be Back Playing For Kaizer Chiefs
Erick Mathoho is happy to be back in Kaizer Chiefs starting XI following his suspension but is wary of the threat posed by Baroka FC when they meet in Durban this weekend.
The Amakhosi are going through a tough patch at present having won just three of their last 15 games in all competitions, although other results mean that they still find themselves sitting in fourth place after six league games.
Baroka are currently second in the league after a tremendous start by Doctor Khumalo’s employers, and ‘Tower’ is looking forward to coming up against them when they meet on Saturday evening.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website he explained, “I love to play in Durban. We always enjoy that special vibe in the stadium. The KZN supporters really make us happy and they motivate us so much. As a result, we push ourselves to make them happy.”
“That was a hard lesson for me,” he says about his red cards for club and country, but he’s now focused on getting a result against Bakgaga after getting back into the starting XI.
He said, “It’s good to be back, and it was also fantastic to keep a clean sheet at the back, as that’s always important. They have been doing well, it promises to be an interesting but tough game. I can’t wait until Saturday.”
Chiefs take on Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium at 18h00.
