Doc Khumalo: Let Me Congratulate Our Goalkeeper!

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 29, 2017 11:27 AM

Baroka FC’s Technical Director, Doc Khumalo, has congratulated his side’s goalkeeper, Oscarine Masuluke for the FIFA Puskas Award nomination.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper scored a stunning bicycle kick against Orlando Pirates last season, which saw Baroka come from behind to end the night on a 1-1 draw in the Absa Premiership.

Masuluke’s goal was nominated for the Absa-Lutely Goal Of The Season at the annual PSL awards ceremony this year, however, the shot-stopper fell short of walking away with the accolade on the night.

Now, the goalkeeper’s goal is currently one of the nominees up for the famous FIFA Puskas award, contending alongside the likes of Jerome Boateng and Olivier Giroud.

Speaking in his column this week, Khumalo has congratulated the player for his great achievement and for receiving the deserved recognition.

“Let me also congratulate our goalkeeper, Oscarine Masuluke, for making the top 10 for the FIFA Puskas award for his wonderful bicycle kick goal against Orlando Pirates. The nomination on its own is an achievement because not many players get that kind of recognition and it us a great achievement for the young man. He has really made us proud and I wish him the best of luck with the votes,” Khumalo said.
