Larsen On Arrows’ Targets For The Season After Chiefs Draw
Clinton Larsen Targeting Top 8 Finish
Golden Arrows coach, Clinton Larsen, has revealed what his ambitions are for Golden Arrows this season.
Arrows finished in eighth place in the 2016/17 season and are currently on the top of the log on the Absa Premiership standings, but Larsen has said that he is targeting a top eight finish again this season, as well as a good cup run.
“If I can do what I did last season with the team, which is finish in the top eight, to keep producing young players and give them an opportunity and to get a good cup run, those are the things that were our objectives last season and, for me, it’s going to be more of the same,” he told Soccer Laduma.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic coach went on to say that he is hoping to enjoy a good run in one of the cup competitions, after guiding Siwelele to a Telkom Knockout win in 2012, as well as leading Bafana Bes’thende to a Nedbank Cup semi-final last season.
“With a little bit of luck, we can get to a final and win a final, but that’s not easy. Everything needs to come together, you need to be injury free, suspension free and you need luck in certain games,” he continued. "When all of those things come together, you end up winning silverware. It’s not easy and sometimes you fall short, but we always strive for that and we will continue to push the envelope and try to be as competitive as we can be, as a club.”
