Police Confirmation: Case Withdrawn Against Bucs Defender
Case Withdrawn Against Orlando Pirates Defender
The South African Police Services confirmed that the case against Orlando Pirates defender, Patrick Phungwayo, has been withdrawn.
Last month, it was confirmed to the Siya crew by the SAPS that a case of attempted murder had been opened against the left back. At the time, it had been alleged that the player allegedly pointed a firearm at another person.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mega Ndobe, has confirmed that the case against the football star has since been withdrawn.
“The court (appearance) was on the 8th of this month (June). The case has been withdrawn but is still under investigation.
“If it can happen later that there are any findings, then a warrant of arrest can be issued. But as for now, the case has been withdrawn for pending investigation,” Ndobe told the Siya crew.
Phungwayo and his Bucs teammates have been preparing for this weekend’s Nedbank Cup Final, which will be against SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium tomorrow.
