Defender Arrives At Wits, Pirates Miss Out
Bidvest Wits Have Won The Hunt For Defender
News reaching the Siya crew is that the matter involving Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates over the services of Thato Thlone has finally been settled, with the player now aware where he will be playing next season.
As revealed by the Siya crew in edition 1029 of Soccer Laduma, it was confirmed that Thlone signed two contracts, with Wits and Pirates respectively. In wanting to avoid a tug of war that has been looming for the services of the defender, Wits and Pirates have now resolved the matter, as confirmed to the Siya crew by a reliable source.
“It seems like Wits and Pirates have reached an agreement on where the player is going. The matter has been discussed and it all seems sorted now. The player has since travelled to Johannesburg to begin training with Wits. He will be with Wits for the new season,” said the source.
Contacted for comment, the player’s agent, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, confirmed that Thlone has arrived at Wits to begin a new chapter of his career with the league champions.
“Yes, the player will be playing for Wits. The matter has been discussed and Wits and Pirates have reached an agreement. Wits have now registered the player with the PSL. I was phoned and told to come to Jo’burg to sort (out) the matter. It’s all been sorted and we are grateful to both clubs and their representatives,” said Mulovhedzi.
