Jayiya First Words As A Chiefs Player
Bhongolethu Jayiya Has Spoken About Joining Kaizer Chiefs
Bhongolethu Jayiya has spoken out for the first time since joining Kaizer Chiefs and the new Glamour Boy has hefty ambitions for his time at the club.
The 27-year-old was confirmed as Chiefs’ latest signing on Thursday after being spotted at the club that morning, with the former Cape Town City man landing a three-year deal at Naturena until 2020.
Jayiya, formerly of Bidvest Wits, Maritzburg United and Mpumalanga Black Aces, scored six goals for City last season but took the decision to leave when his contract came to an end in June.
Now, with Chiefs looking to get back to winning ways after two barren seasons, the winger is hoping to help ‘bring back the glory days’ at the club alongside fellow new signings Teenage Hadebe and Philani Zulu.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, he said, “I heard about the interest from Chiefs towards the end of my contract with City last season. This is a childhood dream becoming a reality. I am excited about this move and just want to get on to the pitch and let my feet do the talking. I am here to assist to bring back the glory days.”
Meanwhile, the club finalised an agreement to release Camaldine Abraw from his contract, wishing the Togolese striker ‘all the best in his future endeavours’.
