Ex-City Winger Surfaces With Chiefs At Naturena
Bhongolethu Jayiya Has Been Spotted At Kaizer Chiefs Village
Kaizer Chiefs could be lining up their first attacking signing of the season, with former Cape Town City man, Bhongolethu Jayiya, being spotted at Naturena.
The 27-year-old is currently a free agent having decided to leave City at the end of the season and the Siya crew reported this week that Chiefs were the team with the advantage when it comes to securing his signature.
According to Siya sources, Jayiya has started training with Steve Komphela's side and is the third trialist of late with Mahamadou Traore and Tanaka Chinyahara having also trained with them.
While it remains to be seen at this point whether the player has been signed or is just training with the club, he has previously spoken of the fact that he would love to join the Glamour Boys if the opportunity arose.
He told the crew recently, “I have seen the reports in the media linking me with Kaizer Chiefs, but no one at the club has approached me or my agent as yet. If they are really interested in me, I will welcome the offer with open arms, why not?”
“Every player wants to wear that Chiefs jersey. It is a great club with rich history. But for now, no one has approached me, but we will see what happens in the coming days or weeks,” he added.
