Agent Talks Bhongolethu Jayiya Future Amidst Interest From Kaizer Chiefs And Co.
Bhongolethu Jayiya said his goodbyes to his Cape Town City teammates yesterday and will now look ahead to the next step of his professional football career.
The 27-year-old’s contract will come to an end on June 30 and although the player’s camp and City were previously locked in negotiations for a new deal, indications are that the two parties were unable to reach an agreement.
As revealed previously on Soccer Laduma, a Siya source indicated that Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Platinum Stars and Golden Arrows were all said to be interested in the player’s services, while monitoring Jayiya’s situation with the 2016 Telkom Knockout champions.
Now, the player will become a free agent on July 01 and Jayiya’s representative, Glyn Binkin, confirmed to the Siya crew that the winger’s camp is assessing a number of options on the table.
"We have numerous options for Jayiya, but we haven't agreed (to) deals with anybody as yet,” Binkin told Soccer Laduma.
Now, it remains to be seen where Jayiya’s next footballing destination will be as many Premier Soccer League clubs are scheduled to report to preseason preparations on July 01.
