Result: SuperSport United 1-1 Chippa United

Date: 19 September 2017

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Chippa United managed to clinch a point at SuperSport United, as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The hosts carved out the first opening of the game after 11 minutes when Thabo Mnyamane's pass found Kingston Nkhatha, who fired over the crossbar.

SuperSport eventually broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when Siyabonga Nhlapo volleyed home from the edge of the box.

It was proving to be one-way traffic in the first half, as the Chilli Boys struggled to get the ball off the home side in the opening 30 minutes.

SuperSport nearly doubled their lead after 35 minutes as Richard Boateng picked out Mnyamane, whose close-range effort was blocked.

Chippa managed to level matters just before the break when Moeketsi Sekola volleyed home from close range.

SuperSport were dealt a blow 10 minutes into the second half when Sifiso Myeni was forced off with an injury. He was replaced by Thuso Phala.

Both sides were slow coming out of the block in the second half and chances were hard to come by before the hour-mark.

Substitute Bradley Grobler went close to restoring SuperSport's lead in the 77th minute, but his volley sailed wide of the goal.

Both sides pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, but they were unable to carve out another clear-cut opening.

I listened to what Tebogo said after the game and I have a lot of reservation about him. He said that it like a student was studying under a candle and now the student study under a bright globe.Does it mean he is a globe that is shining????? It remains to be seen. For me that was an insult to Dan Malesela who did a good job at the club.
