The Clever Boys were sitting deep early on but got into the match after 15 minutes with Gabadinho Mhango coming close to opening the scoring.

Amr Gamal had a chance to put Gavin Hunt's charges ahead in the 27th minute but his gliding header inside the box sailed over the bar.

The clear-cut chances were few and far between after 40 minutes and ultimately the two sides went into the halftime break scoreless.

Wandisile Letlabika was stretched off the field in the 53rd minute following a horrible tackle by Gamal in his ankle. He did not make it back and was replaced by Aphile Lubisi.

Siwelele were showing signs of growing in the game after 70 minutes with striker Roggert Nyundu threatening upfront.

Nyundu broke the deadlock in the 75th minute with a sliding finish into an empty net following a splitting square pass inside the six-yard box from Deon Hotto, 1-0.

Gavin Hunt's charges were alarmed and started to venture forward with urgency going into the 80th minute.

Striker James Keen was introduced in the place of midfielder Thabang Monare in the closing stages, with Hunt looking for a quick response but it was not to be as Veselin Jelusic's troops stayed firm at the back to secure the win.

Here's how they lined up:

Celtic: 30. Tignyemb, 3. Pfumbidzai, 22. Rikhotso, 27. Ndengane, 10. Mabena, 18. Mashikinya, 5. Letlabika, 35. Baloyi, 11. Hotto, 33. Motshegwa, 45. Nyundu.

Wits: 16. Josephs, 4. Khumalo, 5. Damjanovic, 6. Scott, 8. Monare, 10. Gamal, 13. Hlanti, 17. Mhango, 21. Phiri, 33. Frosler. 41. Ntshangase.

Wits will become Mzantsi Leicester, by the look of things they are going back to NFD for the second time. Up until PSL Manto Madlala fine Mhango R100 000 + 5 year ban for his incident to Morton or deport him back to Malawi

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and captain Hlompho Kekana were among the winners at the Gauteng Sports Awards at SilverStar Casino in Krugersdorp on Sunday night. Mosimane was named Coach of the Year, beating Golden Lions rugby tactician Johannes Nthooro Mongalo and Kelsey White of Central Gauteng Water Polo. Kekana won the Sports Personality of the Year accolade ahead of Banyana Banyana star Janine van Wyk - who was denied the Sportwoman of the Year gong by Tanita Ramburuth Hurt - and athletes Luvo Manyonga and Sheldon Thomas. Kekan missed out on the Sportman of the Year prize to rower Lawrence Brittian. Sundowns were also crowned Sports Team of the Year, amid competition from the Lions and Wits Tang Soo Do (martial arts), following their CAF Champions League heroics last season.

I'm honestly glad to see Wits loosing like they are and I know there's no way they will be relegated. Gavin Hunt is trying to accommodate his big signing at the expense of players who won a league & cup double. I wish their situation not to improve. As for Mhango I think our league is failing us why is he playing after what he did to Morton.
