Marques Attracts Overseas Interest
Zeca Marques Wanted In Portugal
As reported by the Siya crew, Zeca Marques, is linked with a coaching job in Portugal.
The former Black Leopards head coach is currently unattached and focusing on business ventures off the field. However, the 56-year-old could be back in football soon, as a second tier Portuguese outfit is keen on bringing him on board.
As reported in issue 1039 of Soccer Laduma, Marques is wanted by Leixoes S.C. in Portugal. Sources have told the Siya crew that Marques’ name has been put forward to Leixoes.
It is believed that the club has been impressed by the former Moroka Swallows mentor. It was reported by the Siya crew earlier this year that the former Moroka Swallows coach was going to Portugal to renew his UEFA Pro Licence.
At the time, Marques confirmed that as part of his visit to Portugal, he wanted to go and spend time at FC Porto and Leixoes. Marques impressed during his time in Portugal.
The coach is also expected to welcome FC Porto’s Dragon Force during their World Camp to be held in South Africa later this year. Dragon Force is a football programme aimed at helping the youth develop their game.
Marques and coaches from FC Porto are expected to hold the four-day event in Johannesburg, scheduled for 20 - 23 October. The event is scheduled for the Jeppe Quondam Sports Club in Johannesburg.
