What Would It Take If City Want To Sign Chiefs’ Lebese?

What Would It Take If Cape Town City Want To Sign Kaizer Chiefs' George Lebese?

By Soccer Laduma - Jun 21, 2017 01:59 PM

There are just nine days left until the upcoming July/August transfer window with clubs in the Premier Soccer League eager to bolster their squad for the new season and Soccer Laduma takes a look at one transfer that could possibly happen.

Earlier this month, Kaizer Chiefs’ George Lebese took to his official Twitter account saying, “All I wanna do is play football (regardless) of what colour t-shirt I have on.”

This post caused a stir in the football fraternity as many believed that it was arguably an indication from the player about his frustration in his diminished game time with Amakhosi.

Lebese has one more year left on his contract with the Soweto giants and with indications that he might be unhappy with his lack of game time at the club, could a move away from Naturena be on the cards for the player?

Cape Town City was one of the clubs who responded to the player’s above-mentioned tweet, hinting at a possible interest in the player’s services.

However, if City is interested in the 28-year-old, the club will have to approach the Amakhosi management directly with an offer and with just 12 months left on his contract, the club might be open to talks and discussions about the player’s future.

Besides negotiating a transfer and the deal, the issue of where Lebese would fit into the City squad comes into play.

City has star player, Aubrey Ngoma, who has been instrumental on the left wing for the Mother City-based club and it is understood that having two left-wingers of great calibre could be a headache for Head Coach, Benni McCarthy.

However, this only if Ngoma will remain at the club in the new season, amidst known interest from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Although, it will ultimately come down to whether or not Lebese wants to leave Amakhosi and if City would be his desired destination.

However, it is the belief that Lebese will look to land a desirable personal package wherever he goes as he approaches the prime of his career and if a possible move to City is on the cards for the player, it remains to be seen whether the club will be able to meet his personal demands.

If this is not a mind game Lebese must go , it is clear that is with our team but his mind is elsewhere. He will cost us during a campaign , please Guluva let him go , if you can put him in market you can get some one who likes to play for Chiefs .

Lebese is a good player and I would want him to play more often and if it is not going to happen and Chiefs must release him once and for all,he is a Chiefs material but been treated unfairly is not good at all.

But truly speaking if it was one of us who is been treated like the way Milkshake is been treated and isn't we will be in the same situation as he is now and futhermore many games that the team played Milkshake was not even making a match squad days almost a season and should he not raise his concerns and why people can't see Komphela is the main course of the situation as he prefare Chimbandare ahead of Lebese and who is better between the two players,no people Lebese is not happy at all simply because Komphela prefare Chimbandare ahead of him and he is not matching Lebese standard of football,Lebese want to play that is all.

george must realise that chiefs has walk with him in bad and good situations since he was a teanage boy. he don't have to leave chiefs because of some one who is "mafikizolo" on the club.and their issues are very useless and embarrasing, unfortunately i can't tell it here on media. we can't lose our star player like Lebese because of khompela 'no' this quy must better leave us.when it comes to exchange of goods i still say no,GL is better than Manyama & Ngoma
