Three Ajax Cape Town First Team Players Training With MDC Team
Three of Ajax Cape Town’s first team players are currently training with the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge setup with two players indicating their desire to move on from the club.
It was revealed on Soccer Laduma this week that the Urban Warrior’s captain, Travis Graham, has indicated to management that he wishes to move on from Ajax and will not be part of the club’s plans for the new 2017/18 season.
Graham has not featured in any of the club’s pre-season friendly matches and did not travel with the squad for the club's pre-season camp in Gauteng, however, still reports to training with the club’s MDC team as he is still contracted to the Urban Warriors.
Rivaldo Coetzee returned to training this week after issuing an apology to the Ajax management and team for going AWOL for the past three weeks. It has since been confirmed that the reason for the player’s absence was because he was unhappy with the wages that he was receiving from Ajax, as he believes that he deserves more.
The player is also training with the MDC team as per his wishes, with Ajax confirming yesterday that the technical team will do the necessary work in order to elevate the player to full fitness. However, it remains to be seen whether a move away from Ikamva is still on the cards for the Bafana Bafana international as the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be keen on his services.
Erick Chipeta is another player who didn’t travel with the first team on their pre-season camp in Gauteng. It was reported on Soccer Laduma earlier today that the Zimbabwean is eager to find a move away from Ajax as he looks for a newer challenge in his professional football career.
Now, it remains to be seen what will come of the above-mentioned player’s situation in the coming weeks.
