Teko’s Next Move: PSL Or Abroad?

Teko Modise’s Next Move: PSL Or Abroad?

By Soccer Laduma - Jun 28, 2017 02:08 PM

Teko Modise officially parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns yesterday, June 27, as he looks to take the next step of his professional football career. Soccer Laduma takes a look at possible options for The General.

Cape Town City

In issue number 1020 of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew revealed that Cape Town City could be a possible destination for the player if the club is able to meet his salary demands. The Mother City-based club could look to the 34-year-old as an asset on the field of play, an experienced and leading figure in the dressing room while having the ability to pull a crowd.

Orlando Pirates

The midfielder plied his trade for the Soweto giants before making the move to Masandawana in 2011 and the Buccaneers could come back in for the player’s services as they look to reshuffle and bolster their squad for the new 2017/18 season.

Kaizer Chiefs

Siphiwe Tshabalala, who turns 33-years-old this year, currently plays in the number 10 role at the Soweto giants and Amakhosi could look to bring in Modise to Naturena and possibly rotate the two players in the position.

Abroad

Given The General’s age, options abroad for the player could be limited to arguably, North Africa, the Far East, Middle East and possibly China, however, the foreign laws in the Asian country could make it tough for Modise.

On the other hand, it remains to be seen which clubs will look to approach Modise for his services, as it would be an opportunity to land a player of his calibre on a free transfer.

However, with Modise being a free agent, he will be in no rush to make a decision about the next step in his professional career as he is not confined to the July/August transfer window.

Mr. Editor why are you marketing a pensioner? If you are his agent then your marketing strategy is way out of line.

Lol chips wont afford his salary demand. The general is rich with experience and has earned lots of money at Sundowns. Can chips afford him NO, can Pirates afford him Hell NO. But CT City can make a plan. He is suited there

I rate Teko very high and he has always been my facourite player since I first saw him playing for City Pillars against KC, but I don't think signing for KC or OP will be good for him.
