Defender Set For MLS After SuperSport Exit
SuperSport United Defender Michael Boxall Has Attracted Interest From Minnesota United
Former SuperSport United defender, Michael Boxall, could be on his way to America’s Major League Soccer after attracting interest from Minnesota United.
Boxall, 28, is currently a free agent after he parted ways with Matsatsantsa earlier this month and it appears that the New Zealand international may not have to wait long before securing himself a new deal.
SuperSport explained that they didn’t want to didn’t want to exercise their option on Boxall unconditionally and that they had then failed to agree on terms once an amended option had been offered.
Now, according to Siya sources, MLS new boys, Minnesota, have shown an interest in trying to land the defender as they consider bringing him back for his second spell in the division after playing for Vancouver Whitecaps earlier in his career.
Boxall, who was a nomination for Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament, played all of New Zealand’s games at the recent Confederations Cup in Russia and may have caught Minnesota’s eye during the competition in Europe.
