Portuguese Giants In Negotiations For SA Starlet
Sporting Want To Sign Liam Jordan Permanently
Portuguese club, Sporting Clube de Portugal, are keen to keep hold of South African youth international, Liam Jordan, and are currently in talks with Bidvest Wits about him.
The 18-year-old, who was recently at the U20 World Cup in South Korea, signed for Sporting last year on a season-long loan with an option, and it appears that they see something in the young attacker.
Jordan battled for game time last year as he trained with the reserve side but played just 60 minutes with the U19s, although next year – if he stays – he will be looking at getting more time out on the field in Europe.
Speaking to the Siya crew about the player’s future, the player’s representative, Glyn Binkin, said, “Sporting want to keep Liam there, but there are some negotiations currently taking place before that happens.”
Jordan was the youngest player who was part of Sporting’s B side last season, and next year could be when the talented teenager is given the chance to show what he can do in Portugal.
