Williams Edges In On SSU Deal Amid Pirates Interest
Ronwen Williams Has Agreed A New Deal With SuperSport United
SuperSport United are looking to put to bed any rumours of him making a move to Orlando Pirates with a new, long-term contract at the club.
The 25-year-old does still have one year left to run on his current deal with Matsatsantsa, however they have seen fit to reward him with a new one given his performances over the last couple of seasons.
Williams, who is yet to sign the offered contract, has been a target for the Buccaneers as they look to fix their ongoing goalkeeper problem, although it appears that their number one target is happy to stay put where he is.
The shot-stopper now has six full seasons under his belt at SuperSport since breaking into the team as a teenager, however did face competition from new signing, Reyaad Pieterse, in 2016/17.
Now, with Eric Tinkler set to begin work this week, the Siya crew has been informed that the ‘keeper is close to agreeing terms on a new contract, and that it could be finalised in the near future.
The club are expected to make an announcement when the matter is all wrapped up.
