Ex-Sundowns Man Pens Dikwena Deal

Raymond Monama Has Signed For Platinum Stars

By Joe Crann - Sep 08, 2017 02:02 PM @YesWeCrann
Platinum Stars have added another new signing to their roster, landing former Mamelodi Sundowns man, Raymond Monama, as they look to turn their fortunes around.

The 28-year-old had an impressive campaign with Royal Eagles last season in the National First Division after regaining the form that saw him signed by Sundowns back in 2013, scoring 11 goals as they pushed for promotion into the top flight.

However, after Eagles failed to secure a spot in the Absa Premiership, Monama decided to look for new employment, alerting the likes of Baroka and Dikwena.

It was previously reported that Monama had been training with Stars ahead of a possible move, and the Siya crew has now been informed that he has completed the move and will soon be available for selection.

Siya sources have revealed that the midfielder has signed a two-year deal in Phokeng.

Manana played in that Arrows team that won the top eight. A big mistake he made by signing with Sundowns, same as Zothwane .

Butler has stepped aside barely two matches into the season after taking over the reins from Cavin Johnson, who is now supervising Premiership returnees AmaZulu. "We have parted ways with the coach," says an official at Stars, who are propping up the standings following losses to Maritzburg United and Cape Town City. "We are still trying to sort out a few things with the coach before we release an official statement." Martin Dlamini will be in charge of Dikwena when they visit SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on September 12. Butler is the second coaching casualty of the PSL season, after Luc Eymael replaced Sammy Troughton at Free State Stars last month.
