Platinum Stars Have A New Signing In Maboke Matlakala from Baroka FC
Platinum Stars confirmed the signing of Maboke Matlakala from Baroka FC, as well as the decision to bring Thobani Kunene back into their ranks for the new season.
Peter Butler will be looking to get off to a good start in Phokeng following his move to South African from Botswana’s national team and the club is working on a number of deals for the new season.
Senzo Mazingiza, the club’s general manager, has confirmed that Matlakala has been signed on a three-year deal from Baroka, with Kunene is back at the club after a loan in the National First Divison with Real Kings.
Meanwhile, the club has also snapped up Sibusiso Mthethwa from the University of Pretoria and is working on bringing Enocent Mkhabela back to the club on a permanent basis after his loan from Kaizer Chiefs last season.
Speaking after getting life with Dikwena underway, Butler told their official website, “I have worked in Botswana where we built a strong solid young team. I gave a lot of youngsters a chance. I believe in clean slates. I believe in giving everybody an opportunity to show what they can do. I believe in discipline.
“My philosophy is that if you play on Saturday, you do everything right from Monday to Friday and Saturday takes care of itself. In general, I find that works. I believe that individually, collectively, we can all go forward and we can all be successful. I am not going to promise you anything I can’t deliver. In training, we will always strive for quality and not quantity.”
