R5m Pirates Target Lands New Deal

Pirates Target, Evans Rusike, Has Signed A New Three-Year Deal With Maritzburg

By Soccer Laduma - Aug 10, 2017 03:01 PM
Maritzburg United striker, Evans Rusike, has committed his future to the club, penning a long-term contract despite reported interested from Orlando Pirates.

It has been well-documented that the Buccaneers were eager to try and land the forward’s signature before the transfer window closed, however it was thought that the R5 million price tag could cause Pirates or any other potential suitors to shy away.

Maritzburg have always remained adamant that they were looking to keep hold of the Zimbabwean, and it now appears that they have managed to do so.

The Siya crew has been informed that Rusike has penned a three-year deal with the Team of Choice that will run until the end of the the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season, something that should put off any club looking to try and tempt him away.

It remains to be seen whether any outfit will still attempt to test Maritzburg’s resolve, though it does look as though Fadlu Davids has managed to keep hold of one of his key players as they approach the new season and this weekend’s MTN8 clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Surely that means his price has gone up now from the R5M. That was just too much for a player who's just exciting to watch but doesn't score that much. We living in an area time were we desperate for our teams to sign strikers who scores 5 goals a season. Shows how Poor PSL 'strikers have been.

Mr Khoza, please open the cheque book and sign Rusike. R5m please. If you want the happy years to come back you need to invest & open the chequebook. You haven't signed even a single defender and the league is starting on 19th August. PLEASE Sign Mario Booysen, Rusike, Mlambo, Malatjila, Mbekile, Ngele. Put Gabuza, Gcaba & Sarr on transfer list, PLEASE!!!!PLEASE!!!!

Many players with great talent were destroyed by this so called "big three" who bought them with no plan of using them.

Good. For a change, players being able to remain at their respective clubs instead of running up and down chasing money and in turn ruin their careers.
