Another Pirates Goalkeeper Facing Exit?
Orlando Pirates To Make Further Goalkeeping Changes
Orlando Pirates are expected to make more goalkeeping changes from their current squad, before the start of the new season.
As revealed by the Siya crew, Pirates have signed former Thanda Royal Zulu goalkeeper Xolani Ngcobo, although it has yet to be officially confirmed by the club.
So far, Pirates confirmed the experienced former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands in their new signings.
Following the departure of Brighton Mhlongo to Chippa United, Pirates currently have five goalkeepers within their setup, after the acquisition of Ngcobo.
As it stands, the Bucs’ goalkeeping department comprises of Jackson Mabokgwane, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Emmanuel Daniel, as well as Sandilands and Ngcobo.
The indication from sources close to the Bucs camp is that Daniel could be the one making way to reduce the number of goalkeepers from the squad of next season.
“The club hasn’t made a decision yet. But he (Daniel) is the one who is likely to leave. A decision will be made soon,” said the source.
Daniel hasn’t played any official matches for Bucs since he joined the club at the beginning of the year.
