Pirates & Enyimba Yet To Agree On Nigerian’s Transfer Fee?
Orlando Pirates Are Apparently Yet To Finalise Christian Obiozor's Move
News reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates still need to conclude the paperwork for the signing of Christian Obiozor, though they have already announced the player’s signing.
As reported by the Siya crew in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, Obizor does still have a contract with Enyimba that runs until 2020, suggesting that a fee will be paid for his services ahead of the new season.
Given the fact that Pirates announced the move already it was presumed that a fee had been agreed with Enyimba prior to his transfer and that the matter had been settled.
Now, however, the crew has been led to believe that Pirates and Enyimba are yet to come to an agreement regarding the financials of the move, although the Buccaneers were given permission to assess the Nigerian and agree to personal terms.
The source explained, “The deal isn't finalised yet, at least financially. The player has undergone a medical and all, as Enyimba gave Pirates permission to speak with him, however, the financial aspects aren't done.
“Enyimba was prepared to lodge a complaint with CAF, but Pirates quickly explained the situation to defuse. Talks between the two clubs have now been lined up soon in order to settle on a fee.”
Pirates and Enyimba are expected to finalise this matter in the near future, with the 22-year-old – who played in a friendly against Polokwane City today – eager to try and get his career back on track after a difficult couple of years with Enyimba.
