Sundowns Return Date Revealed
Mamelodi Sundowns Will Report Back To Club Duty Next Week
Mamelodi Sundowns could be expected to report to training next week July, 26 after the team received some time off following their last CAF Champions League fixture.
The Brazilians will yet again be faced with a tough schedule when the 2017/18 season gets underway, as they prepare to challenge both domestically and defend their Champions League title.
Unlike other PSL outfits, Masandawana were given just a three-week break from football and will get their 2017 MTN8 campaign underway without undergoing a full pre-season.
Sundowns will host Maritzburg United in the first encounter of the 2017 MTN8 competition, however, before the team gets the season underway, indications are that Head Coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team will be making adjustments and changes to the squad.
It has already been confirmed to Soccer Laduma that Sundowns youngster, Sphelele Mkhulise, has been sent out on loan to Richards Bay FC in the NFD after returning from a loan stint with Black Leopards last season.
As previously reported on Soccer Laduma, Sundowns are set to make a decision about whether or not foreigners, Cuthbert Malajila, Mogakolodi Ngele and Fiston Abdul Razak will be part of Head Coach Mosimane’s plans for the new season.
Mario Booysen is yet another player whose immediate future at Masandawana is still unknown after the player returned from his loan stint with SuperSport United.
Sundowns have since registered Thela Ngobeni for both the domestic and CAF Champions League competitions, adding the cover to Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene in the goalkeeping department.
The likes of Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro will be entering the final 12 months of their contract with Sundowns and it remains to be seen whether these players will put pen to paper on new deals in the coming months.
However, for now, with the transfer window currently in full swing, Siya sources have indicated that Sundowns are set to make new signings in the coming weeks and it remains to be seen which new faces will be donning the Ka Bo Yellow colours in the new season.
