Mamelodi Sundowns Are Still Keen To Land Cape Town City Winger
Mamelodi Sundowns are still keen on trying to land their Cape Town City transfer target as the Brazilians are yet to close in on their first new signing in the current transfer window.
As previously reported on Soccer Laduma, Sundowns’ interest in trying to secure the services of City’s Aubrey Ngoma seemed to have died down a little after the player sustained an injury to his knee, however, the Siya crew has since been informed that this is not the case.
In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Siya sources have revealed that Masandawana still have hope to lure the player to their camp for the new season, despite Ngoma currently recovering from a knee operation which might keep him on the sidelines for several months.
The 26-year-old seems to still be at the top of Pitso Mosimane’s wish list according to Siya sources, however, as it stands, the Brazilians are yet to approach the 2016 Telkom Knockout champions for the player, after the recent events where Chairman John Comitis’ expressed his disappointment in the Brazilians’ head coach.
The Brazilians’ interest in Ngoma has been no secret ever since Comitis issued a press release to the media, where he revealed that Head Coach Mosimane allegedly contacted Ngoma in the hopes of luring the player to the Chloorkop-based club. According to City, this took place without the club’s permission.
With the transfer window in full swing and with the Brazilians yet to close in on their first signing, it remains to be seen whether Masandawana will approach City for the 27-year-old, however, indications are that City will look to put a hefty price tag on the player’s services.
