Lakay To Fight Celtic Over Contract
Lyle Lakay Believes That He Should Be Free To Leave Bloemfontein Celtic
Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder, Lyle Lakay, thinks that he is a free agent, despite the club’s claims that he has one year left on his contract at the club.
The Siya crew has previously reported that both Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City have shown an interest in landing the 25-year-old for the 2017/18 campaign, largely based on the fact that he could be available on a free.
Celtic had until the end of May to exercise a one-year option on the player, although there seems to be a disagreement between the parties as to whether they did that or not.
The crew is led to believe that Lakay will be arguing his case against Siwelele as he looks to take the next step in his career, although at this stage he hasn’t put pen to paper with any other club.
His agent, Vasili Barbis, would elaborate too much on the matter, however, did say, “Lyle believes that he’s a free agent and is open to the offers he has received.”
Lakay joined Celtic in 2012 and has scored seven goals in the past two seasons.
