Wits Starlet To Europe, Talks At An ‘Advanced Stage’
Liam Jordan's Move To Sporting Clube de Portugal Is At An Advanced Stage
Liam Jordan looks likely to finalise his move to Portugal in the next few days, with Sporting Clube de Portugal in ‘advanced talks’ with his parent club, Bidvest Wits.
The 18-year-old, who was this week called up into Stuart Baxter’s Bafana Bafana squad, spent the season on loan with Sporting as he looked to kick on in Europe, however he hasn’t been given too many chances to impress in games despite being the youngest player in their reserve side.
It was reported earlier this week that the Portuguese giants do want to make sure that the talented teenager is still with them next season, with his agent, Glyn Binkin, saying that negotiations were taking place.
Now, with the 2017/18 season on the horizon, Wits’ CEO, Jose Ferreira, has also commented on the matter, explaining that they hope to have things finalised in the next week.
He told the Siya crew, “Negotiations with Sporting regarding Liam are at an advanced stage, we’re hopeful that things will be finalised within the next week for him to be there next season.”
