Stars Midfielder At Home, PSL Clubs Interested
Free State Stars Midfielder Attracts Interest
Free State Stars’ Charles Kampi is currently not training with the club after he was allegedly told to return home.
As it stands, the midfielder is not sure about the future for the upcoming season, as he is not involved with the Bethlehem team’s pre-season preparations.
“Charles Kampi is currently not with Free State Stars. He is not training with the team. He is at home,” said the source.
Contacted for comment, Kampi’s agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi confirmed that the central midfielder is not with Ea Lla Koto at the moment.
“It’s true that Charles Kampi is at home. The thing is that he was just sent home and nothing has been communicated regarding his future. The problem is that there are teams interested in the player. The team (Stars) said he still belongs to them. They are still paying his salary,” said Mulovhedzi.
Kampi was touted as Lucky Mohomi’s replacement when he joined the Free State club in August last year. He was previously on the books of Manchester United in the Polokwane LFA League.
According to sources, the likes of Chippa United, Baroka FC, Polokwane City and Highlands Park are monitoring the situation of the 23-year-old player.
