Former Tottenham Starlet Arrives At Platinum Stars
Former Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder, Charlie Hayford, Is At Platinum Stars
Platinum Stars are believed to have tabled an offer to former Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield Wednesday youngster, Charlie Hayford.
The 19-year-old is currently in Phokeng under the watchful eye of the new head coach, Peter Butler, and after helping Wednesday to English Premier League 2 promotion this past season, it appears he is considering a move to South Africa, the birthplace of his father.
Hayford, who spent over a decade with Spurs before joining the Owls in 2016, is believed to have impressed Butler and his technical team, and the Siya crew has been informed that he may well be looking over a contract offer from Dikwena.
Given the fact that his dad is South African, Hayford can be registered as a non-foreigner if he does decide to make the move to the Absa Premiership, although at this stage it is thought that he is yet to make up his mind about the future.
The central midfielder spent time training with the first team at Tottenham from the age of 15 and is clearly a player who has the potential to star with Dikwena if he does decide to make the move.
Hayford has predominantly played in the middle of the park as a number six and was already part of Tottenham’s U23 side in the 2014/15 season despite his young age.
