Ex-PSL Star To Be Honoured By Botswana President
Former PSL Player For Top Botswana Honour
Former PSL player, Mogogi ‘Gino’ Gabonamong, is set to receive a top honour from Botswana President, Ian Khama.
Gabonamong, who played in the PSL for eight years since his arrival from Botswana in 2006, played for three different clubs in Mzansi’s top-flight.
The former midfielder played for Santos, SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic during his time in Mzansi. He returned to Botswana’s Township Rollers in 2015.
The player announced his retirement from competitive football in June, at the age of 34.
“The President of Botswana, Ian Khama, announced that he will honour Mogogi Gabonamong with a Presidential certificate of honour. He will be honoured alongside Isaac Makwala (Botswana sprinter) and 15 other distinguished people from various fields,” a source confirmed to the Siya crew.
The athletes will be honoured during Botswana’s 51st Independence celebrations on September 30.
