Ex-Bucs Defender Pens New Deal
Former Orlando Pirates Defender Joins New Club
Former Orlando Pirates defender, Patrick Phungwayo, has found a new club after penning a deal with Free State Stars.
Phungwayo officially parted ways with Pirates last week. In their statement, The Buccaneers confirmed that an agreement was reached for mutual termination of the player’s contract.
It was reported by the Siya crew that the left-back attracted interest from Ea Lla Koto, following his exit from Pirates. Stars, who have also been looking at Cheslyn Jampies for the left-back position for Luc Eymael’s team, have decided to offer Phungwayo a contract.

Phungwayo joins former teammates Rooi Mahamutsa and Sello Japhta at the Bethlehem club. Eymael confirmed the signing of Phungwayo, who has signed a one-year deal.
"We have signed Phungwayo. He looks good in training. I was surprised when I saw him and the quality in him because I heard a lot of stories that he was overweight and all that. He seems okay for me," said Eymael.
Stars will take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Belgian coach's first game in charge.
