Ex-Downs’ Zambian International Eyeing Return
Former Mamelodi Sundowns Midfielder Keen On PSL Return
Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Mukuka Mulenga, could be set for a return to the PSL.
Mulenga has been in the football wilderness for some time, since parting ways with Sundowns at the end of his contract last year. The Zambian was signed by Sundowns as a 20-year-old in 2013, on a three-year contract.
Despite being praised by Downs coach, Pitso Mosimane, who likened him to Khama Billiat at the time, Mulenga struggled to command a regular place in the line-up of the Chloorkop outfit.
During his time on the books of Sundowns between 2013 and 2016, Mulenga went on loan twice, to Bloemfontein Celtic and Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The indication from sources close to the 23-year-old attacking midfielder is that he is keen on joining a club in the PSL for next season.
“Mukuka Mulenga is ready for a return to top-flight football. He is keen to join a club in the PSL for next season. Let’s see what will happen during the transfer window,” said the source.
Before he joined Sundowns, Mulenga was voted the Zambian Footballer of the Year for 2012 during his time with Power Dynamos, when he was just 19 years old.
