Furman Commits Future To SuperSport
Dean Furman Has Got A Contract Extension At SuperSport United
Bafana Bafana midfielder, Dean Furman, will be with SuperSport United until at least 2019, with the club confirming that he has extended his contract there.
The 29-year-old has been almost ever-present for Matsatsantsa since his move from Doncaster Rovers in England back in 2015, playing over 70 games for them in two seasons as he took on the club’s captaincy.
SuperSport have won back-to-back Nedbank Cup titles with Furman in the team, and reached the knockout stages of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in their history.
The midfielder’s contract was due to expire at the end of the 2017/18 season, however Stan Matthews – SuperSport’s CEO – has confirmed that that is no longer the case.
Speaking to the Siya crew this week, Matthews said, “Dean’s contract has rolled over until 2019 because he was meant to end next year.”
Furman picked up the Coach’s Player of the Year Award for SuperSport in 2016/17, with Stuart Baxter naming his as one of his last job’s before leaving for the South African national team.
