Booysen Takes Aim At Absa Premiership Return
David Booysen Is Considering His Options In The Absa Premiership
Stellenbosch FC defender, David Booysen, is targeting a return to the Absa Premiership following his side’s failure to secure promotion out of the National First Division.
Booysen joined Stellenbosch in January to help them in their efforts to clinch a spot in the top-flight, playing 15 matches as they were beaten in the promotional playoffs at the end of the campaign.
Now, with the 28-year-old’s contract having expired, he is currently weighing up his options. It is known that Stellenbosch do want to keep hold of him, but at this stage he hasn't made a decision about his future.
Sean Roberts, the player’s representative, says they’ve already had some interest in him, with some enquiries being made.
He told the crew, “He had a really good six months with Stellenbosch, starting nearly all of the games while he was there. Of course it was disappointing that they didn't get promoted because he is a PSL player. We have a few clubs enquiring and he’s a free agent so we’re confident about his future.”
Booysen has been playing in the PSL for the last seven seasons, and is looking to get back there before the 2017/18 campaign gets underway.
