Chippa Rejected From Registering Konqobe
Chippa United Deal For Ayabulela Konqobe Falls Through
The latest on the Ayabulela Konqobe saga is that Chippa United have tried without success to register the player with the PSL for the 2017/18 season.
The Siya crew broke the news two weeks ago that Chippa signed the defender, with a view of adding him to Dan Malesela’s squad at the Port Elizabeth outfit for the upcoming season.
However, the latest information reaching the Siya crew’s desk is that the Chilli Boys were unable to register the centre back after it appeared that he belongs to another club.
“Chippa United were in the PSL recently to try and register Aya. The club’s representative, who went to the PSL, found a shock of his life when he was told that the player is contracted to another player,” said the source.
Two other sources, who spoke to the Siya crew on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Konqobe has not been registered by Chippa. Attempts to get a comment from Chippa CEO Peter Koutroulis were unsuccessful, as he was not immediately available for a comment.
