Baroka Parting Ways With Players After Relegation Scare
Baroka FC Reshuffling The Squad For New Season
Following their narrow escape from being relegated to the NFD, Baroka FC is reshuffling the squad in preparation for a fresh start in the PSL in the new season.
The Limpopo outfit will be hoping for a better campaign in their second season in Mzansi’s top flight. As reported in edition 1029 of Soccer Laduma, Baroka has released Mxolisi Kunene and Tshepiso Lietsisa.
Lietsisa has already been snapped up by Chippa United. Kunene’s agent, Siya Mareke, confirmed that there is interest in the player’s services.
“We’ve terminated with Baroka. He’s now free to join a club of his choice. I’m very happy with the opportunity that chairman Khurishi Mphahlele gave us because my player made a name for himself by scoring against the number one goalkeeper in Africa, Itumeleng Khune.
“For me, Mxolisi did well. We already have interest from another PSL club. I can share with you that even Maritzburg United wanted him at some point,” said Mareke.
As confirmed by Baroka’s media officer Jimmy Ngobeni, Nkosinathi Ogle and Helder Pelembe have requested to be released from the club.
