One Chiefs Trialist Leaves, Two Remain
Arnaldo Gomes Has Stopped Training With Kaizer Chiefs
The three trialists at Kaizer Chiefs have now been reduced to two after one was informed that he will not be getting a contract at the club.
It was revealed recently that the Amakhosi had Jonatan Philippe, Darren Lurie and Arnaldo Gomes training with their first team as Steve Komphela continues his search for new players, with all three looking to try and impress the Chiefs head coach.
The Siya crew reported last week that Philippe is believed to have already agreed to a deal in principle if all goes well, while Lurie and Gomes were both still trying their luck.
Now, according to Siya sources, Gomes – the 19-year-old midfielder – has been asked to stop training with the club as it seems that Komphela has seen enough of him to know that he will not fit into his plans.
Lurie, meanwhile, is still training and could potentially play in this weekend’s Premier’s Cup against Chippa United if Komphela sees fit.
