Another Ajax Cape Town Player Wants Out?
The representative of COSAFA Cup winner with Zimbabwe, Erick Chipeta, says that the player is eager for a move away from Ajax Cape Town in order to achieve more game time.
The Urban Warriors acquired the signing of the 27-year-old defender in the July/August transfer window last year where he made just 12 appearances for Ajax throughout the 2016/17 season. Despite his lack of game time with the Urban Warriors, Chipeta received a national team call-up to represent his country, Zimbabwe, where he helped lift the COSAFA Cup trophy in Rustenberg this year.
"Chipeta played all the games in the COSAFA Cup and was instrumental in the team conquering the competition. However, he is looking for a move away from Ajax, due to a lack of game time and he's currently in the best form of his career right now," Roberts told Soccer Laduma.
Chipeta is not the only player currently indicating his desire to move on from Ajax. As reported last week on Soccer Laduma, Bafana Bafana international, Rivaldo Coetzee, has refused to report to pre-season training with the Urban Warriors as he tries to force a move away from Ikamva.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Ajax will be open to hearing any offers for the defender in the current July/August transfer window.
